FOLIOTREND PRIVACY POLICY

FolioTrend (foliotrend.com) is operated as a sole proprietorship based in California. The operator is responsible for the collection and processing of personal data described in this Privacy Policy. References to "FolioTrend," "we," "us," and "our" mean the operator of foliotrend.com. References to "you" and "your" mean the individual using the Service. "Service" means the FolioTrend web application and all related features and tools available at foliotrend.com.

FolioTrend is a financial research and information platform. It provides portfolio tracking, AI-assisted analysis, quantitative factor scoring, market data, simulation tools, and educational content. FolioTrend is not a registered investment adviser, broker-dealer, financial planner, or money manager. Nothing on FolioTrend constitutes personalized investment advice or a recommendation to buy or sell any security. All analysis, scores, signals, and research outputs are general informational tools. Users are solely responsible for their own investment decisions.

Account and identity data: your name, username, email address, and hashed password when you create an account using email and password. If you sign in with Google we receive your name and email address from Google — we do not receive or store your Google password.

Recovery email: an optional secondary email address you provide for account recovery purposes. Used only to help you regain access to your account if you lose your primary credentials.

Portfolio data: stock holdings, quantities, cost basis, transaction history, portfolio values, and watchlist items you enter manually or import via CSV. Automatic brokerage account syncing is coming soon and is not yet available.

User profile data: investing experience level, investing goals, asset types you invest in, risk tolerance, approximate portfolio size range, and how you heard about FolioTrend. Collected during onboarding to personalize your experience. All optional except where noted.

App usage data: which features you use, how frequently, what searches you run, and general interaction patterns. Used to improve the product.

Device and technical data: browser type, device type, IP address at the time of account creation and consent, and general location at the country or region level. Collected automatically.

Communication data: your email address used to send alerts, the morning brief if you enable it, and important account notifications.

Consent records: a log of when you accepted each version of our Terms of Service, Privacy Policy, cookie consent, and Data Provider Agreements, including the timestamp, document version, IP address, and browser user agent. Retained for legal compliance.

Payment data: subscription plan and billing history. Payments are processed by Stripe. FolioTrend does not store your full payment card number, card verification code, or full bank account details.

We do not collect your brokerage login credentials or passwords. We do not collect your Social Security number, tax identification number, or government-issued ID. We do not collect precise geolocation. We do not collect data from your device microphone or camera. We do not purchase data from data brokers or credit bureaus.

We collect data directly from you when you create an account, complete onboarding, add holdings, configure settings, or contact support. We collect data automatically when you use the Service through standard web technologies. We receive authentication data from Google when you choose to sign in with Google.

• To provide and operate the Service including portfolio tracking, AI analysis, health scoring, quant research, simulation tools, and educational features.
• To personalize your experience using the profile information you provided during onboarding.
• To send alerts and notifications you have configured.
• To send the Morning Brief to your email if you have enabled it.
• To improve the Service based on aggregate, anonymized usage patterns.
• To manage your account, subscription, and billing.
• To maintain security and prevent fraud or abuse.
• To comply with legal obligations including maintaining consent records.

We do not sell your personal data to any third party. We do not use your data for targeted advertising. We do not use your portfolio data to trade securities.

We share data with the following service providers solely to operate the Service. Each has their own privacy policy governing their handling of data:

• Supabase — database hosting and user authentication infrastructure.
• Stripe — subscription billing and payment processing.
• Resend — email delivery for alerts, notifications, and the Morning Brief.
• Google — authentication when you choose to sign in with Google.
• Alpha Vantage — stock price and fundamental data.
• Polygon.io — supplemental stock price data, used as a fallback when our primary market data source is unavailable.
• CoinGecko — cryptocurrency market data.
• FRED (Federal Reserve Economic Data) — macroeconomic indicators.
• SEC EDGAR — publicly filed company documents used in AI research.
• Google Gemini — the AI model behind FolioTrend's research agents, factor analysis, and the Morning Brief. Relevant portfolio and market data is sent to Gemini to generate that analysis; Google's own privacy policy governs its handling of that data.
• Upstash — Redis caching to improve app performance.
• Inngest or equivalent — background job processing for AI agent tasks, email delivery, and data sync.

We do not share your personal data with any other third party except: at your direction, to comply with applicable law or valid legal process, or to protect the rights, safety, or property of FolioTrend or others.

Automatically syncing a brokerage or crypto exchange account is coming soon and is not yet available. Today, portfolio data is entered manually or imported via CSV — FolioTrend never has access to any brokerage login credentials. When automatic syncing launches it will be read-only: FolioTrend will never place trades on your behalf, and any linked account will be disconnectable at any time from Settings, immediately removing all data imported from it.

We use cookies strictly to operate and secure the Service. Essential cookies handle your login session, authentication state, and security. Optional analytics cookies (which you can disable during onboarding or in Settings) help us understand how the Service is used in aggregate. Optional preference cookies remember your settings between sessions. We do not use advertising cookies. We do not use cookies to track you across other websites.

We apply encryption in transit using TLS and encryption at rest for sensitive data including brokerage access tokens using AES-256-GCM. Our database uses Row Level Security so your data is isolated from other users at the database level. We use secure authentication and never store passwords in plain text. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure. If a security incident affects your personal data we will notify you as required by applicable law.

We retain your data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account we delete your personal data within 30 days, except for consent records which are retained for 7 years as required for legal compliance, and anonymized aggregate data that cannot be traced back to you. Payment records are retained as required by tax and accounting law.

All users: you may access your data, correct inaccurate data, export your data, and delete your account and all associated data at any time from your Settings page.

California residents (CCPA): you have the right to know what personal data we have collected about you, the right to request deletion of your personal data, the right to correct inaccurate personal data, and the right to opt out of the sale of personal information. FolioTrend requires users to be at least 18 years old. We do not knowingly collect personal data from anyone under 18. If we learn that a user is under 18 we will delete their account and data promptly.

FolioTrend does not track users across third-party websites for advertising purposes. We honor Do Not Track browser signals.

FolioTrend's infrastructure is hosted primarily in the United States. If you access the Service from outside the United States your data may be transferred to and processed in the United States. We ensure our service providers maintain appropriate data protection standards.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we make material changes we will notify you by email and with an in-app notice and ask for your renewed consent where required. The effective date at the top of this page reflects the most recent update.
